Leaves seem awfully eager to invade my workplace. We do try to keep the carpet clean...but it doesn't take long to get a pack of itinerants.

I know what you mean. I'm responsible for keeping the floors clean at my work place, and I really want to put a sign by the door that says "Wipe Your Flippin' Feet."
